With facilities in Brattleboro and Burlington, Phoenix House New England’s Vermont Outpatient Programs provide a comprehensive behavioral health treatment strategy to help patients throughout the state recover from substance use disorders. Clinicians and providers work with patients to help them restore their lives in the community. Licensed professional clinicians and practitioners work with each patient to determine their own strengths, needs, talents, and preferences in order to explore areas of problem, create desired changes, and assist healing at the mind-body-spirit interface. Outpatient behavioral health therapies are tailored to address the unique needs of each patient. The program aids individuals in regaining control of their life by promoting sobriety, promoting long-term rehabilitation, and establishing support networks

Patients may participate in group counseling and/or individual treatment as needed and preferred by the clinician. Throughout outpatient treatment, a clinical and person-centered approach is suggested. A licensed clinician evaluates all patients to determine their clinical needs. Medication for Opiate Use Disorder (MOUD), commonly known as Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), is accessible in conjunction with treatment services, and an extra on-site referral can be made for any mental health needs.

Treatment for co-occurring disorders and collaboration
Substance abuse is best treated when family or other supportive people are involved, according to experience and research, and services must be tailored to a person’s readiness to change. At HCRS, we believe that true recovery requires a desire to examine how you think, make decisions, and interact in relationships, not merely ceasing your alcohol or substance usage.
