The 30-bed Clinical Stabilization Services (CSS) Unit is designed to stabilize patients and improve their chances of recovery after they have completed an initial detoxification treatment at Berkshire Medical Center’s McGee Recovery Center. In the CSS beds, which allow patients to stay in the hospital for 14 to 30 days, patients can get individual counseling, group treatment, and mental health educational groups. CSS beds are an important link between detox and residential therapy.

The optimum treatment option is admission to the McGee Recovery Center, a 21-bed inpatient detoxification facility, followed by admission to the CSS unit for up to 30 days, and then transfer to The Brien Center’s Keenan House or another residential recovery home.
