Clients also meet with drug use counselors during the program, which lasts 3 to 7 days and provides individual and group counseling as well as assistance in identifying and securing resources and supports for their next step of care after Milestone. Peer Navigators, who have been in recovery for a long time, engage with clients at Milestone and in the community to ensure a smooth transition.

When a person becomes physiologically dependent on alcohol, withdrawal symptoms occur as soon as the substance is removed from their system. Many persons who abuse alcohol continue to drink despite knowing the dangers it poses in order to prevent withdrawal symptoms. Of course, not everyone who drinks alcohol develops a problem with it. Therapy is at the heart of treatment at an inpatient alcohol rehab center or drug treatment program. Many persons who abuse drugs or alcohol are often dealing with other mental health issues. As a result, a dual diagnosis and a treatment strategy tailored to these disorders are required.

I work with clients who are addicted to any substance, with a concentration on drug and alcohol addictions. I work with adults, adolescents, and others who are concerned about the negative effects of drugs and/or alcohol, including as family and personal relationship problems, legal issues (including OUI), employment troubles, and social challenges.

We can assist you in overcoming these symptoms and guiding you through the grieving and healing process. Clients are taught how to recognize triggers, develop relapse prevention methods, and cope with stress in order to reduce their usage and achieve abstinence.
