IOP stands for Intensive Outpatient Program. The first phase of treatment is the IOP period. It is 5 days a week, 3 hours every day, with weekly medical appointments. This will take about 30 sessions, though a client will be reviewed by the clinical team after the first three weeks. If a client is stable, the transition to the second phase of treatment will be considered. (It will take about 6 weeks)

The induction period begins. This phase of treatment entails less intensive but consistent attendance throughout the week. During this stage, a client begins to work more closely with an individual counselor while still attending group sessions. In the range of 30 days or 12 to 15 sessions (Approximate 4 weeks)

Jody Cyr, LCSW, LADC, CCS, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Certified Clinical Supervisor with 14 years of experience assisting people in making good changes to improve their physical and emotional well-being.

She earned a master’s degree in social work. She has treated mental illness and addiction in people of all ages and at various levels of care, from inpatient hospitalization to individual counseling.
