The first step of the rehab process at our treatment center begins at Phase I, which includes full-time treatment with housing. This phase of treatment is also referred to as our partial hospitalization program (PHP) and provides clients with a day-long schedule of treatment activities that meet five days a week from 9:00am until 5:00pm. This program is staff-supported 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and promotes activities of daily living, while also integrating intensive therapeutic interventions as clients work to overcome their addiction to alcohol. The following may be included into a client’s overall programming during his or her stay at Wellness Resource Center:

Medication management: When clients are suffering from symptoms of co-occurring mental health conditions in addition to alcohol addiction, the use of psychotropic medications may be implemented into their treatment plan in order for them to experience true relief from their distress. The use of medications, however, is always determined on a case-by-case basis. Clients will meet with a psychiatrist at a minimum of once per week in order to manage and monitor any medication needs. Additionally, a client’s primary therapist, the program nurse, and the attending behavioral health technicians are all also available to help monitor medication throughout a client’s time spent in rehab.

Individual therapy: Clients have the opportunity to meet with their primary therapist for individual therapy sessions once each week, but additional sessions may be added when needed or deemed clinically appropriate. These sessions are designed to be a time for clients to meet privately with their therapist and discuss their progress in rehab, while also addressing any concerns that may have arisen. The relationships between clients and their therapists are built on trust and are central to helping clients successfully heal.

Group therapy: Group therapy is at the core of rehab at our treatment center, and clients engage in group therapy sessions 5 days per week, with between 3 and 4 different groups meeting each day. While individual assessment and treatment are highly valued, we have found that exploring the commonality among clients is a vital avenue for helping them gain insight and make positive, lasting changes in their lives. Clients can expect to participate in process groups, gender-specific groups, age-specific groups, psychoeducational groups, and experiential groups. The different topics that are covered during these group sessions may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Family therapy: Family therapy sessions are offered to clients and their family members on an as-needed basis throughout their time spent in rehab. When families cannot be physically present, telephone contact, conference calls, and written communication will be used in order to keep them involved and informed of their loved one’s progress, and to help them find resources for dealing with their own emotional struggles.

Once clients have completed treatment in Phase I of programming at Wellness Resource Center, they may step-down to treatment in Phase II.
