Addiction Recovery Institute South is an outpatient substance use treatment clinic located at 205 Hallene Road, Suite 102, in Warwick. ARI specializes in medication-assisted treatment for adults with opioid use disorder and also provides general outpatient counseling for people with other alcohol or drug concerns. The South clinic serves residents of Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts in a private, community-based setting.
Methadone and Buprenorphine Treatment
ARI provides methadone and buprenorphine maintenance treatment. These medications reduce opioid withdrawal symptoms and cravings, helping patients stabilize and participate more fully in counseling and recovery planning. Medication choice and dosing are based on medical evaluation, opioid-use history, previous treatment, physical health, other prescriptions, and individual response.
Maintenance treatment can continue for an extended period when it remains medically appropriate and beneficial. ARI does not require every patient to follow the same timeline. Clinical staff monitor safety, medication response, treatment participation, and progress toward recovery goals.
Outpatient Detoxification
ARI also offers a more rapid outpatient detoxification option for selected patients with a shorter history of opioid use disorder and little or no previous treatment. This approach uses a time-limited medication taper rather than open-ended maintenance. It is not appropriate for everyone, and eligibility depends on clinical assessment and safety.
Patients who need hospital detoxification, residential rehabilitation, or more intensive medical monitoring may be referred to another provider. ARI’s outpatient program is intended for people who can participate safely while continuing to live in the community.
Substance Use Counseling
General outpatient counseling is available to people with substance use or dependence concerns, not only opioid use disorder. Individual counseling helps patients address triggers, relationships, stress, grief, employment, legal issues, and routines that influence recovery. Family members or supportive friends may participate when the patient chooses.
Treatment plans are individualized. ARI’s staff includes medical, nursing, counseling, and administrative professionals who work together to support each patient. The organization emphasizes dignity, privacy, and familiarity, noting that patients are known by name rather than treated as numbers.
Clinic Schedule
The Warwick clinic provides dosing Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. It is closed for Sunday and holiday dosing. Office hours extend through early afternoon on most weekdays. Patients should verify current hours before arriving.
ARI’s South clinic is designed to provide continuity over time. Patients can receive medication, counseling, testing, and regular clinical review through one program, reducing the need to coordinate separate opioid treatment and outpatient counseling providers.
Insurance and Payment
ARI lists Medicaid, Medicare, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Tufts, Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, and other coverage among accepted plans. Self-pay is also available.
