A highly planned recovery plan is part of residential addiction therapy. As you live in a clinically supervised facility with other patients, you are continually observed. PHPs are a step down, and intense outpatient treatment programs are much further down the road. Patients have fewer therapy hours and are more self-sufficient. You can join an IOP while still working or going to school.

IOPs are generally followed by sober living houses or halfway houses. They use peer support to encourage sobriety, responsibility, and wellness. People who have had similar experiences pool their skills and knowledge to assist one another. You are free to pursue your own sort of therapy or treatment once you reach 1398, but it is not necessary.
