Transitions TSS is a Suffolk County, Massachusetts-based alcohol and substance abuse treatment center. Transitions is a 40-bed, evidence-based, short-term treatment program for adults run by the Boston Public Health Commission. Transitions’ mission is to provide a secure and therapeutic atmosphere that aids clients in their recovery. Relapse prevention, behavior modification, interpersonal skill development, and re-socialization abilities are all addressed in Transitions.

Client discussion groups with a facilitator gather every day to discuss life concerns relating to substance abuse. Clients attend psychoeducational sessions to learn about the physiological, psychological, and societal effects of substance abuse.
One-on-one, goal-oriented sessions assist clients in determining an appropriate location for treatment continuation.
